A RARE HOOK END ICE MEASURE RULE. This rule, which was used for measuing the thickness of the layer of ice on a pond, lake or river, is marked with the imprint of C.I.P. Company. The rule is graduated in inches and ends with a ring tip, most likely to hold a lanyard to prevent the rule from ending up on the bottom of the pond.

A rare EXTENSION TYPE AUGER BIT, No. 6, by the Millers Falls Company, Millers Falls, Massachusetts. This telescoping bit extension has a shaft that can be extracted from within the main sleeve to extend the length of the extension. The concept was patented on May 28, 1907 by Charles E. Hill of Foster, Ohio. Only the second example of this uncommon auger bit that we have seen or offered for sale. Rare.
