Lot 1. An early GLASS BEER BOTTLE from the Indianapolis Brewing Company, Indianapolis, Indiana. This company was one of the last Indianapolis breweries and represented the merger or acquisition of Gack & Biser; the P. Lieber Brewing Company; and the C.F. Schmidt Brewing Company. This name was used between 1887 and the beginning of Prohibition and again from 1936 to 1940, when the firm's president, Lawrence Barden, went to jail for short-filling bottles.
